I agree.. maybe he's been programmed (or his leader has or whatever) to give us information when we reach a certain point in technology [like the monolith in 2001]! But something hostile is affecting the timer

Wow. That is an awesome idea. I think it really makes sense - very relevant to the content in AdjutantReflex's posts. The word "Adjutant," the cryptic and skeletal wording, the "boot up, maintain, search, hibernate" themes in AdjutantReflex's posts line up perfectly with the functions of a POST. Great job, Muskie!

That is brilliant! If anyone needs some help with BIOS stuff, I'd be glad to help - I've been a system builder for 5 years, so I have more than a bit of experience with the BIOS. Although the BIOS doesn't control "hibernation" (that's ACPI, it seems we're getting closer.
