How the Ark could possibly save the Earth *Quite Off Topic*
This is a rough Flash movie of how the Ark could potentially save the Earth from the effect of the Halo's firing,
There has been a lot of speculation about the Ark, and although this does not relate specifically to the ARG - it's still good to know,
thoughts?
And yes, it IS out of scale etc..

Re: How the Ark could possibly save the Earth
i thaught it would just be a shield itself and anyone else in the ark would be shielded, your idea makes more sense however
Re: How the Ark could possibly save the Earth
That would be terrible for Earth's colonies, though. :/
Re: How the Ark could possibly save the Earth
Well, it would be incredibly stupid if the Halos fired, and every single human alive was protected. There's no way to end Halo completely happily without it seeming like a croc in my opinion (then again, watch Bungie prove me wrong).
To the OP: I actually really like this theory. Good job!

to be honest thats what i thaught aboout saving every human on earth i reckon either the halos wont fire at all or if they do (which will be annoying considering the fact the activitys in the first game would have been wasted) a couple of hundred humans at the most will be protected by the ark

Humans that have left Earth won't be protected,
tough luck really - they left Earth, although fair enough they didn't know,
And what further backs up my theory (possibly) is the huge swirling clouds above the ark - therefore the sky, atmosphere and 'climate' are affect by the Ark as it begins to (possibly) protect the planet in which it is based,

Re: How the Ark could possibly save the Earth
An interesting idea, but if it was made as a place of refuge as well as a place to activate all the Halos it would probably act more along the lines of how Onyx works. Why make two completely different ways of saving people?

I'd like to point out that the halo weapon probably operates through subspace. Otherwise it would take 25,000 years at light speed to be effective.

Objects--or energy--in slipspace have no effect on matter in normal space. So while FTL is useful for transit and communication, it doesn't work so well as a weapon.Lord Terminus wrote:I'd like to point out that the halo weapon probably operates through subspace. (So it would work in normal space, with the normal light speed restrictions.)
