Approximate time to solve: 19 hours
Just as before, users headed over to http://alphalupi.bungie.net and followed "Wednesday" on the chart below to get into the locked material:
Chart provided by ncsuDuncan

As usual, there was an output.png and a geomask.png to be viewed. At 12:01am, this is what they looked like on the site:
This confirmed that the geomask.png and output.png are varied depending on number of users. As the day progressed, the images became clearer:
Coordinate. Combine. Clarify.

[Note: (x, y) visibility limited. (u, v) analysis might prove useful.]
Active Baselines:

Frequency gaps detected. Additional global observatories required.
Your node will remain active for 5 minutes, but may be reactivated as necessary.
Distributed, synchronous effort required.
MrGreencastle at DBO pointed out that, as the day's events lasted late into the night, Bungie updated the text below the output image to read:
The Instructions that were linked from this text were updated as well: freefall722 over at Bungie.net pointed out some really helpful information and a great link about how to go about unlocking the images' secrets:[Note: (x, y) visibility limited. (u, v) analysis might prove useful.
v-resolution particularly limited.]
Using the same fourier analysis as in previous days, the numbers became clearer:If you're looking for a way to help - log into the above link and keep refreshing every 5 mins (that's how often the server checks). By being logged in during any 5 minute span you add a white dot to the right image - the more white dots the faster we solve this - but your white dot will only last for five minutes (that's why you need to keep refreshing).
You'll be able to see the fruits of your refreshes in realtime here (it gets re-uploaded every five minutes):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9a9a1eec15fgw ... Output.png [link no longer works]
Each 5 mins you log in puts a dot in a different location - if your white dot falls on a space we haven't filled in yet on the final image that information will automatically get added to the final Output at the above link. Where the location of your white dot will land is a combination of the time of day and your location on earth. So get others involved to get other locations and keep refreshing to update yours with time.

Over at Bungie.net, Sunburned Goose was the first to figure out the puzzle. Transcribed:
One face is blistered, the other plunged into
a brutal chill. Is this how it's always been?
You remember hot oceans, nourishing
atmosphere. But something transpired,
kicked what was wet and fertile into space,
stealing away everything of value. Or
perhaps what thrived here for a day or for
ten million years decided to leave, peeling
its wet organics off the bones.
A name offers itself, and another, and a
thousand more.
The answer feels like the iron heart of a
collapsed star, and you realize the union
between the past and the future is now.
