Something my sleep deprived mind came up with....
There's been speculation that the system primary may be artificial in origin. Well, what about the planet? Low core density... Almost sounds like another Onyx.
And the CME? Almost no residual radiation, the sun back to normal.... Sounds like something within the planet needed to be 'refueled'.
Any other thoughts?

Re: The Planet
I agree. Been thinking the same myself since the unusual scans of the planet. Hive, unfortunately, is taking too long to analyze the sensors' data...

Re: The Planet
I'm still catching up, a link to that post would be nice.
But other than Onyx, there is the possibility of other shield worlds...and we don't know yet if the planet that Chief was headed for at the end of H3 is completely artificial or not. I can't come up with any other artificial planets in the Halo universe, can you?

Re: The Planet
I've asked for a spectroscopic analysis, but have yet to receive results. A probe has been launched to retrieve core samples as well.
Re: The Planet
Ok, I'm losing it.
'Fauxbos'? Why in the infinite hells of deep space did I have to come up with that?

Re: The Planet
Right.
Given the 'gobstopper' construction of the planet I'd have to say Hive's captured rogue theory falls apart. The effects of the CME should have done more than 'repave' most of the surface.
Then there's this:

I think we're there. Now.F484: I'm looking at our galactic placement, and I'm looking at... something. Here, do you see it?
Myung: One sec. (PAUSE, 1.3 SECONDS) It's a... It's a data storage and analysis facility.
F484: For what purpose?
Myung: For collecting and preparing information for the Reclaimers.
(PAUSE, 0.9 SECONDS)
F484: So it's a listening array.
Myung: No, no. More than that. It's more like... A gift to the Reclaimers that would help uplift them to the status of those who made this place. Not just history, but a full explanation of all facilities and a primer as to their sciences.

I wonder, is the Theseus equipped for away-missions?
