Bungie Award Acceptance Videos Discussion
Split from The Superintendent Thread into a brand new one. ~Unreal
Anyone want to take a guess at what Bungie was hinting at in those new acceptance speech videos? SI is pictured at the end of both of them, and there is some very bizarre behavior in both videos. "Hey what happened?" after an odd selection of players get randomly killed around him seemed a bit off. And that ending scene from the edge video sure as hell looked strange. Discuss?

Re: The Superintendent
Did I not read some where that both of those videos were created from actual Halo 3 gameplay? If so, then...M4730 wrote:Anyone want to take a guess at what Bungie was hinting at in those new acceptance speech videos? Re: The Superintendent
rumour is they may be releasing a map editor - looks like more than Forge. And considering they showed various Halo campaign characters, that fits with the idea that a map editor can place any game asset anywhere, and the final scene being a formless grid world save the room the camera zoomed out of, I could believe that theory...
Re: The Superintendent
Has anyone tried taking the uber high resolution videos and slowing them down at the end, to see if an SI message is somewhere in the particle explosion?

Plus, I was just thinking, Are the characters in the videos are just shells? It is possible to turn them into AI's. Has everyone seen those videos of "Ghosts" on YouTube? They spawn randomly, and are quite good at Halo. Maybe that was something Bungie put into the game originally and could never figure out a way to perfect it? Does this comment even make sense?

What are the ghosts then? It has to have some measure of intelligence to be able to attack players.AfRo SaUcE wrote: Ghosts are not A.I.

Basically, the ghosts are a glitch when a player joins a game, but is not recognized in it. They still move, but don't show up on the list of players, and have default models, and things. It's really complicated so I can't go into details, suffice it to say that they are real players, but the game fucks up and makes them move and animate strangely.

The G4 video has me bothered the most. First of all, where are they exactly? That room isn't from any campaign or multiplayer level seen yet. And those two symbols on the walls in the background look new to me, I could be wrong. It also looks like there's something on the ground they're standing on.

You pretty much just summed up everything everyone else is thinking...M4730 wrote:The G4 video has me bothered the most. First of all, where are they exactly?
