Over at http://destiny.bungie.org/forum, Grizzlei pointed out the beginning of a new ARG.

This was found by finding a post created by "Alpha Lupi" in the Bungie.net forums named "Something is falling towards you. Or are you falling towards it?"

The ARG can be accessed by heading over to http://alphalupi.bungie.net/?day=0.

By clicking the two center patterns, users redirected to a new page which states, "Pattern Active. Array Element Online."

Below this text are two images with text of their own above and below:

Above, it reads: Coordinate. Combine. Clarify.
Image
This image is titled "Output."
Below the image it reads: [Note: (x, y) visibility limited. (u, v) analysis might prove useful.]

This text links to a set of instructions which reads as follows:

The second image reads above it: Active Baselines:

The image is titled "Geomask."
Below the image reads: Frequency gaps detected. Additional global observatories required.

The bottom of the page reads:

Your node will remain active for 5 minutes, but may be reactivated as necessary.
Distributed, synchronous effort required.

Over at destiny.bungie.org, ncsuDuncan made a great post about Bungie Day's Geomancy, which would prove more than valuable as each day progressed (see Day 2.)

Reddit user "flashman" noticed that both the output and the geomask can be put through a Fourier transform function in Photoshop (as hinted by Alpha Lupi's Bungie.net avatar) and then layering the two images together. flashman provided this image in reddit.

Image

Reddit user "Techercizer" then noticed that while trying to remove the additional noise, the image was able to be flipped 180 degrees without altering the noise in the photo, providing us a much clearer picture.

Image

Removing both the red and blue channels in the combined photo allows us to go in deeper.

Image

He then noticed that if you invert the colors in output.png and then "overlay it with the green channel of the Fourier transform with [geomask.png]; they match exactly, and you can use them to cancel out the noise and clean up the number significantly!"

Image

While Techercizer continued to play around with the images, he noticed that both the output.png and geomask.png would actually change as a result of two possible factors: one being that there are less people on alphalupi.bungie.org at the time, or that it changes in time intervals.

After about three variations of both output.png and geomask.png, Techercizer came up with the clearest image yet:

Image

While Techercizer continued to make a clearer photo, Reddit user Mendicant_Bias chimed in that the photo above looked like a name of an image, followed by the .jpg extension.

Mendicant_Bias then found that if you put in 98862748014.jpg following http://alphalupi.bungie.net/, you got the image below:

The best voices--voices that truly matter--never
allow themselves be heard. This lesson is worth
learning again and again.

Forever.

Your voice moves as whispers, murmurs and urges
inside larger winds. Only the trusted few can absorb
what is necessary. Wise and sly and perfect, your
instructions drop, leaving nothing but the hard sweet
rime of enlightenment.

The path is set. Your voice is unleashed. Except now
it is gone...

And maybe it never was.
