SOTA in the News

Unread post by Sno564 »

I Googled the news for the society of the ancients, and found it's made some pretty good news worldwide.

My favorite, however, was a brief mention here:http://dotnet.sys-con.com/read/390444.htm. This guy was visiting San Fransisco from New York, and reported some of his personal observations.

The fourth bullet down, he talks about how people in SF are much more crazy in NY:
The crazy people are far more interactive in SF than they are in NYC. Most of the crazy folks in NYC just kind of talk to themselves and generally mind their own business. Their San Francisco counterparts actually step in front of you and attempt to engage you in conversation about the end of the world, or, I actually saw a parade of people that belong to the "society of the ancients", people who believe that aliens built the pyramids. This is a crapload more entertaining than the guy outside Penn Station who just swears at you!
Haha!

Here's a couple sites I've found that are actually in on the joke:

And here's the actual search that I found these with:

There was a post a while back about some college kids who saw the SOTA people, they were completely bashing them for being crazy and they didn't realize it was a part of something else.

Found another funny thing while Googling blogs:
http://www.bwog.net/articles/the_truth_ ... _something

This person ran across a member of the society, and became worried for their mental well-being.
I was immediately interested--not in aliens, of course, but in why someone would suffer the comparative humiliation of publicly pleading the case for their existence.
Freakin hilarious!

They're going to feel silly when they find out...(there's comments in their blog.)

...I love viral marketing!
