Society of the Ancients

Unread post by Mister_Pibbles »

Just a summary of things from Society of the Ancients, with references.
http://societyoftheancients.com/members.html or
http://206.16.223.63/ -- Microsoft IP

First off, note the Glyph on the evidence page, as mentioned in the Glyphs thread. That secures the connection to the ARG

Go to the Members page, and you'll notice the mailing list has no address. Right click on the members page and view the page source.
You'll find commented out text that leads you to http://206.16.223.63/sota_images/SOTA_membership.pdf

Unfortunately, as of this time, the e-mail address does not appear to be active. This ties in to http://blog.myspace.com/two222222, which says membership will be up in a few days and, hmm, SOTA's in possession of a robot which will be repaird in 7 days, on June 21st. Interestingly enough, that seems to be what http://206.16.233.65 seems to be counting down to. Hopefully the email address will open up soon, and that will be the next big clue source. If not, there must be something else hidden on those pages.

Did MS create SOTA, cause apparently two222222 knew about them ages ago, he references them way back:

Do You Grok?
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Life

So I was recently introduced to a new group... "The Society of the Ancients" or something similar. It's pretty funny, these guys think that aliens came down and "speed up" human evolution. I've seen the evidence, and it's pretty neat, but it cold easily be photoshop, and it works both ways.

They claim there's more evidence and benefits for members, so I was thinking about joining. They claim they aren't a cult, but if they start serving punch I'm outta there, :P. They also have this odd thing, they ask people "Do you grok?" which means "Do you understand/appreciate things." It's based off some old Sci-Fi stuff. Made me laugh.

That's all for tonight though. Time for bed!
This SOTA business has been planned for months! We need someone to join them, apparently they'll accept new members at the new moon, tonight (Jun-15 4PM GMT+1 for me here).

Btw, what's this robot they have, I seem to have missed something. Do they have a sentinel in their possession or something?

The SOTA website was last modified around midnight (Jun-15 12:06:33 AM is what I'm getting for all the pages). However, each page expires at a different time, from 4:19:28 PM to 5:48:29 PM, both June 15th. Are these times from my
PC's clock (GMT+1) and do they have any relevance at all? I have no idea what the page expire date means so if this is useless just ignore.
