 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
The avatar is an apparent map piece. To where I don't know. However, My thinking was "Hmm, map chunk + 'Yet there's a spot' quote equals....I'm supposed to be looking for somewhere. He's giving us a map."

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
The hexagons in the avatar are reminiscent of the VR movies Bungie has put up of wireframe models.
And of course, the Warthog wireframe model had that bizarre message:
"X.XX.713 > ghost.713/non-auth/activity ongoing"
Did a quick skim of the wireframes I could find (for the Warthog and for one of the weapons) and didn't see any convergence of lines that looked quite like the avatar.

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
I'm sorry, but I just don't see it.
Mind posting both images, the originals, before you merged them? I can't make out anything from that.

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
Maybe the avatar is actually a map and the letter J stands for something. I noticed it corresponded with the location of Mount Kilimanjaro in relation to the hypothesized site of the Ark: In the Google Earth image Mount Kilimanjaro is in the same place it is in the Halo 3 announcement trailer.

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
I was trying to figure out where I've seen AR's new avatar, so I attempted to expand the image, here is the result. It's just guesswork.

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
In IRC we've also been throwing aorund the idea that the avatar is in relation to stonehenge. If you compare the two some similarities do emerge.

 Re: Coordinates and AR's avatar
Yeah, I was messing around with that in photoshop, but I need to find a better diagram of stonehenge. I noticed that if you rotated the avatar just right, it matches up with the angle of the sun hitting the altar stone on the solstice.
