Email Structure

Unread post by novusvir »

HISTORY CIRCLING
BACK UPON US.

The gears of the Universe spin further
and further apart.
Ever greater grows the gulf between souls,
And distance gives false hopes of safety
But for the grim tidings this messenger bears:

The enemy is almost upon us

Closing in from all sides,
Moving faster than the light
it snuffs with its passage,
Time echoes with the news of its destruction.
History winding back upon itself.

Waves of an army march this way in unison, suffering and
corruption are its battle cries.
For I have known this darkness
and felt its embrace once before-
Horror best laid to rest

Yet a journey must commence

Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame.
They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.

----------------------------------------

Okay, so I made sure this is copied exactly from the email. Look at the structure of the email. To me, the structure seems weird. there are some words like 'Suffering' that are capitalized when they don't need to be, but there are other words that are not capitalized but seem like they should be. That, and some of the lines are either strangely short or overly long. I believe that the structure of the email has some importance. I just haven't figured what that is yet, so I figured that I would point it out and get more minds on the idea.

Why are these bold? It almost sounds like something a prophet would say, but then again they would probably say The Great Journey must commence. However if it was covenant, the enemy would most likely by the Flood.

I would believe so, but I'm no good at figuring meter out.

I believe that this is from some Forerunner AI, so I would presume that the MC has to make a trip somewhere to accomplish something. But I think that the enemy that the Forerunners are worried about is the flood coming to the Ark on Earth. But I don't believe that the journey spoken of is the Great Journey. Any time that it is mentioned it is alway the Great Journey, never a journey.

Well it certainly has no clear syllabic pattern. but I'm only GCSE level English (and I intend to keep it that way). Also, no rhyme scheme.
