We assume though, that the Forerunner were a single race. They could have easily been a group of different races, which had evolved to the point of near god-hood in terms of technological knowledge. And with the assumption of God-hood, comes the actions...

All of the biblical references can also be seen as parts of Forerunner history being assilimated into our own over time - i.e. the Flood and Noah's Ark from the bible - possibly being created in God's image. Also, I remember seeing on the History Channel that a lot of ancient cultures had similar mythical stories involving a great flood and a sunken city (as in Atlantis - maybe a tie-in to the Ark being underground?)

If the Forerunner was a groop of people then shouldnt we be calling them Forerunners. Or could it be just one all Knowing almightey person that usses machines to do there biding. That would explane the huge amount of A.I.s hanging around.

Now, until Halo 4 comes out this year, you can't really be sure. In the book Glasslands, the engineers refuse to tell Halsey. Q: What what happen if some covenant got ahold of those engineers (Huragok)[ original ones that never had contact with the covenant and were found by Halsey and Lucy(Spartan III) in the dimensional bubble]
A1:The engineers tell them and they go out to find them. Fortunately, the Forerunners would,without a doubt, be out of the galaxy if that was 100,000 years ago, and, with so many rings, they most likely survived. The elites (and maybe a few loyal brutes) would search for them and, even with slipspace it would take them a very long time to get there, yet alone find them in yet another huge area.
