N'Chala as translated by Rehema

Unread post by Ironlion »

So I got Rehema to take a shot at translating N'Chala.

Here's what he gave me: "This is probably a badly spelled version of the expression "Insh'allah," which means "God willing" in Arabic but which is also widely used in Swahili (which has quite a number of Arabic-derived words due to its coastal location & trading history)."

Appears to be nothing. Hopefully someone else can make someone out of it. It could after all be just a name from 100,000 years ago.

Maybe Bungie just named the guy whatever because their HALO Story Bible is -that- intricately designed.

I, too, thought the name N'chala was strange... in Russian, "nachala" means "beginning"... it is spelled like this:
начало.
Interesting little tidbit, whether it was purposeful or not.
