The Day the Earth Stood Still

Unread post by Bradxd »

I noticed that Jonas Volman said "The Places the Earth Stood Still".

Last night I was at Hollywood Video, and my sister said "Hey, check out this old flick."

It's name was "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
Sounds corny in a way, but check out its wiki page, and it's description.

Feel free to elaborate.

What is your new book about?
Jonas Volman says:
The Places the Earth Stands Still.

Jonas Volman says:
The new book expands on the castaway theory.
Aliens? :o

What do you see as the correlation between the movie and the reply from Volman, other than the words? Do you have an idea or a theory about it?

Elaborate, please.

I'm just basing this observation on what Jonas Volman said in the dialogue, not based upon his book. It could just be another wierd relation to something that no one would really think much about. It's not really an inference yet either, just speculation. :]

I brought this possible connection up here:

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1042&p=15159&hilit=#p15159

And you'll see that shamanistcrage, right below me, brings up the idea that perhaps the title refers instead to solstices, lunar calendars, etc. This may be true, but I like my idea better. :)

The connection is that Volman's books seem to be getting at the truth about Forerunner involvement in human development, or at least human history. So the "places the Earth stand still" would be places (like Africa) where aliens (Forerunner) and humans (people!) interacted, like in the movie.

I have this theory that the places the earth stands still is the Great Rift Valley. A lot of important things concerning human evolution have been discovered there and it is along the road that goes from Eldoret to Voi to Mombassa.

yeah but why call it "stood still"? i mean if that was the case he could have called it many different titles with 'beginning' 'evolved' etc etc. maybe the 'stood still' is just one of those right-out-there clues heh.
