DNA Coding
For the past 2 hours or so that the server has been open, i have been trying to decode the DNA/RNA sequence in the "sample" download. I'm about done to the 12000 point, and have so far determined that the DNA is not human, but it is very close to the genetic makeup of the DNA crossrefrenced in the human genome project.
So what does this mean?
I personallly think we should ask Jonas or Thomas about it and what they think of it. Who knows, we're sooo close now to having all five servers open, it's not even funny.
But i do wonder about the "boomerang" thing. Is the reason it was given to us so that we would think that it's would be the key to the 4th portal? How significant is it to opening the 5th? I guess these answers willl come in due time.

lol, that was found before even server 4 was opened, but thats a part of server 5 that is
also the dna stuff has already been found over at unifiction

Re: DNA Coding
That's what im saying. What if boomerang has nothing to do with server 05? what if it's just there to screw it up?
of course, there is the other possibiltiy that Bungie/ Microsoft wants us to find out the last server....
EDIT: but lets not forget that the DNA is the main reason i posted this thread!!

Re: DNA Coding
There's no reason to think that the artifact location site has anything to do with server 05 yet.

Re: DNA Coding
There is one specific codon that is kinda freaking me out....
TAATAA
Apperantly, this codon is responsible for mutations that can result in pneumonia, drycoughs, lung lesions and heart failure.
Does anybody know symptoms of Flood Infection?
ps. please, no sarcastic comments.

Hard to say. By the time a host becomes infected its pretty much over.LordOsiris wrote: Does anybody know symptoms of Flood Infection?
It seems that the symptoms are similar to leperasy. The body tissues become more fluid than solid.
I could imagine, tho, that the symptoms would be different between species.

Re: DNA Coding
Good point- we arent dealing with humans here-yes, a very close genetic match but notihng that linkes us to present time.
And the TAATAA is also related to depletion of calcium stores......
flood can "consume anything with ample stores".

Here's a good resource on the flood:

Not sure if anything would help this game, but there's more info on the flood if anyone is curious.

Re: DNA Coding
The DNA code in the sample txt file was found to be Alligator sinensis mitochondrion

Re: DNA Coding
