Post number 42, eh? Well, we all know 42 is the answer to everything, so it must be right.

coincidence? or a posting by bungie?
Re: General Terminal Discussion *Campaign Spoilers*
I have believed that since the day ILoveBees started.. and I've seen so many things that are vague enough to question if they are "true"/"false", but are so.. augh I cannot explain it properly. It just seems like that is the only possibility.Bradxd wrote:Actually, I think Forerunner's were humans.
DHalo wrote:No offense to anyone but it seems like I'm the only person who can really grasp the story from the game.
When 343 said we must get there, or something along those lines, he followed that up with, "Or the Meddler will destroy it all!"
Gravemind said that her secret was revealed, because she had just openly revealed it. Remember that the Gravemind throughout the level wanted to know what she hid; the secret plan that Cortana had. Which was to activate Halo with the activation index she had from the first Halo. However, this open display of the Index made it rather simple for Gravemind to just watch her show Chief.
Sorry to quote/bump this old post.. but:
I was wondering what he was saying there.. when I watched the cutscene.
Here's a few variations:
"We must get past that barrier, or another will destroy all"
"We must get past that barrier, or mother will destroy all"
"We must get past that barrier, or [our]mother will destroy all"
"We must get past that barrier, or the mother will destroy all"
The bolded one is the line which I believe to be correct. I've been looking at the audio signature(s) in some sound editing tools.. and it seems to be consistent with a "m" sound.
If it is in fact "the mother".. it fits nicely with Librarian staying behind to finish "her" job. "The Mother" meaning she was like a mother to all species, for saving them..? Or possibly because 343 was created by the Forerunners, "the Mother" being one of them... would be a "mother" to 343. All speculation, but it does fit inexplicably well with the #42 post.
Whether 343 is saying it due to it happening in the past (and is confusing/melding it [together] with the present), or for some other reason (perhaps no reason at all?[doesn't seem like Bungie.. but somehow still does at the same time ]), I do not know. Speculate away.
(Furthermore, I noticed the #42 post thing, hehe. I don't think it has any significance. )

I always thought 343 said "Meddler." He calls the Arbiter "Meddler" on a few occasions, so it fits in a way.

It took me a while to pick it out of the rest of the text, but yeah, it's there.Admiral Whitcomb wrote:X.XX.713 > ghost.713/non-auth/activity ongoing

From my standpoint, 'non-auth/activity ongoing' could be one of two things either
a) Mendicant Bias trying to say hello. The computer registers this as an invasion of programming or
b) It doesn't like that it's being accesses, a sort of automatic 'dude, get off my computer'
Perhaps if we could identify what (or who) they mean by ghost.713, we'd know what the termianls keep getting pissed about.

there's alot more in that red text- maybe someone could screencapture it and slow it downMulletedOne wrote:"We must get past that barrier or the meddler will destroy it all!"Raiden wrote:I was wondering what he was saying there.. when I watched the cutscene.

Re: General Terminal Discussion *Campaign Spoilers*
It's meddler-343GS refers to the Covenant as "meddlers," as they constantly interfere with the whole forerunner legacy, which they were not meant to be a part of. He says it in the closing cutscene of Oracle in H2, sometimes when the Arbiter gets killed in H3, and many other times.
