Vanishing stars in Server 5?

Unread post by Orpheus »

does anyone notice that the stars vanish slowly over time when they go to theartifactlocation?
anyone ever had all the stars disappear?

I don't think it's anything particularly important, it's probably just a red herring to get people off course.

An official Microsoft Hosted Red Herring? Didn't know those existed, lol.

Seriously though, there must be something to it.

I think he just meant that the stars disappearing is the red herring. I think they're there for effect more than anything. They probably hold no true meaning, just to look good.

I've been letting the Artifact Location page run for a while, and I've noticed that my star pattern is different than Orpheus's. Perhaps it's content changes to reflect the sky over one location? Take a look:

Different people would have randomised star "charts" (the starting stars) and so, randomised ending too, I guess.

I run till the end where stars stop disappearing, and the ending too is different from yours.

This has been around for a while. The stars are always replotted and I believe they represent the worlds the Flood have taken over. The cities we're still trying to find the significance too. The random text next them are just that; random. We looked at the code.

The thing is, is that those most likely aren't stars, but systems or even galaxys with multiple solar systems or star systems within them. We have no idea though, because we haven't been given a scale. I think it is just something that Microsoft wants us to put all of our focus on, forgetting the clues we've been given previoulsy.

heres my theory. (it's probably wrong)

ok at about 12:30 AM MT time i counted 23 stars remaining
at 1:00 PM I counted 32 stars.

we could count the remaining stars at the right times (I don't know when)
then use the numbers for something (I don't know what)
but I think there is something about the stars that just isn't right.

I don't know just a theory. :geek:
