A few pages back I asked if anyone had tried overlaying the book cover with the Star Images... has anybody tried that yet? I wish I could, but I really don't have the time to photoshop right now at work.

In the Halo Insider area of the Halo 3 official website, a poem was added on August the 3rd. I did some digging around and found that it was written by Lord Byron>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Byron

The original text is below. Bungie has seemed to have added the last eight lines. I assume that is what is meant by <<overwrite granted>> and <<content updated>>.

Okay, thebruce discovered that there are extra spaces before some of the letters in the poem. Those letters spell out

CASTAWAYTHEORYVOLMAN

And we don't know where to go from here. "Volman" does not appear to be an anagram of anything--I popped it in a few anagram generators and they couldn't return any results, even on multiple words.

What's next?

Edit: the extra lines at the end do not appear to be from any other existing poem.

I'm sorry, could someone show me where those letters come in? I can't seem to get all those letters. It's just not clicking.

About the search being ended, and ('coincidentally'?) 100 or so artifacts collected over 16 days at the island "offer some possible links to Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan", etc...

The group doing the search is TIGHAR - "The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery" - far too close to SOTA's name... but all info from the domain points to a legit site. so confusing...

this could all be way off base, as I still have no idea what the volman connection is... Mark Volman was in the band The Turtles.

Look at the bottom , it started in 1997. (Oddly the same as that Iris thing there's a thread about)

Why does the last part of the poem, which is added in to the original, mention the formula's secrets. Could this be referring to the Schrodinger formula? And, Amazon caught my attention, which could be a wild shot, but in reference to Amazon.com??? Who knows.
