If you ask me the Slide_Ref070107 looks a lot like a heat-scan of the halo just before it fires. This would also make a lot of sense if it was as the Forerunners Programmed the Halo to record the firing sequence. There is one other idea I have. Could it be possible that the effect caused by the Halos is a giant vacuum? It'd make sense if you think about it. If the Halos forced all of the air out into space then nothing could survive.
