Re: F484

Wow. I'm going to need time to sort this all out (and I see a mountain of associated paperwork in my future), but I may as well start now. Chair, Helen, thank you for standing by me though this thing. It's been one heck of an adventure, and I'm happy to hear that you both found what you were looking...

Re: Some thoughts and theroies

@Jagged:
Good note with Europa.

There's a second parallel--F484 using some forerunner device to make himself a "star child" equivalent?
I haven't read the book, I'm pulling what I recall from the Kubrick film here, along with a Wikipedia search.

Re: You're almost free

Interesting.

Wait, there's a Europa in the Sol System--about Jupiter! Did F484 mean elsewhere, or is Earth sitting next to a threat?

Re: I wasn't going to include this...

I find that when I mess up, honesty is the best policy. Maybe we'll make it a few dinners. You sound like you have a tough time, and while I'm no shrink, I'd be happy to lend an ear if you feel like ranting--whatever you're allowed to rant about, of course--as one friend listens to another. Thanks f...

In other news...

Well, we now know who our mysterious encryptor is:

I feel so, so stupid.

In all honesty, you had me fooled, I'm in the wrong here, I legitimately thought that the person sending the messages was someone else. I was desperate, saw those messages, and assumed that whomever was contacting the Anomaly was 100% successful, and that therefore by making a connection I could ope...

Good. Cut the door open if you need to.

Ship's status, please, including weapons, control capabilities, and engine status. Log of all EM anomalies, list of affected personnel, total witnesses out of the total ship's compliment as well.

Hive, send the new encryption key to Helen. The last three were ONI codes, maybe this one is too.

Out of our hands?

Well, We can't predict the anomaly, and therefore can't defend against it. And it doesn't want to talk. We can't get anything useful out of the Encryptor source. We can't get anything other than history out of Chair, none of which is useful yet. We can't get anything from Hive, all he does is report...
