Re: How does Halo work?
Hmm, it's one of those things I felt sure I remembered, but it's not in the transcripts--memory's funny sometimes. When I get a chance I'll skim the novel "The Flood" (shudder) and see if it's in there. If it's not, I apologize. Nevermind! That said, my question stands, how would radiation...

Re: Names of the monitors, clue perhaps?
Right--also, there's a correlation between the installation number they are associated with and the letter count in each monitor's first and second names I have never heard that one... and that correlation is? (Installation # - 1) = a initial number = 7^a (i.e. "guilty spark" = 343; "...

Re: Names of the monitors, clue perhaps?
While that holds true for halo installations number wise. You forgot that the names of the monitors also have a correlation. Guilty, and Penitent both have to do with remorse, and Spark and Tangent both have to do with something that goes off on its own, or a disturbance. Abundant Reflexes' name si...

Re: How does Halo work?
Am I wrong in remembering it being stated in Halo: CE that the mechanism was a strong telepathic command "DIE!"? I don't think the mechanism was primarily physical--how would radiation discriminate based on biomass, for example?

Re: mrbananas's Last Universal Theory
Since it was written earlier though, he did not have the comic. The comic seems to be extremely strong evidence that humans are not the forerunners. Actually, I disagree. Part of Mr. Banana's theory is that something went wrong with the transmission of knowledge to the newly-reestablished humans, s...

Oh hey, Io has an ice crust which is riddled with sulfurous flow . . . good addition to the (completely hypothetical) supposition!

Re: AR is back (Again 6/29/2007 12:42pm PST)
On a practical level, 'veins of ice and poison' could also be referring to geographical qualities of a planetary object with a low enough surface temperature for methane to freeze and become a long-term feature of the landscape: a planet (such as Pluto) or a gas giant moon (such as Triton) which lit...

Re: Africa on Delta Halo?
Hey, thanks for that link. I'd read a fair bit of that info in other places, but never the Africa thing, strange. Then, I went and read this faq (and specifically http://highimpacthalo.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9200, sixth q under "movie/cutscene related") through and well, damn I'm humbl...
