Re: Weekly Update Message 2

Av, I don't understand how you can say that this message happened before the last. The last message was the first alert of it, then said that 300 years had passed since. Now we see that 100,000 years have passed since that event. Doesn't that number ring a bell? It has been 100,000 years since the ...

Re: Weekly Update Message 2

I'm going to analyze each section as I go, but first I'll begin with some math: LOG: QUERIED ADJACENT FACILITIES LF.Xx.3273 research and containment facility [alpha, beta, gamma, epsilon, zeta, and kappa sites] have all replied [systems normal] within expected constraints. This would tend to signify...

ABO back up and running

There was a minor glitch that occurred when some settings were upgraded. I emailed Wu and he's fixed it up, so posting and other functions that stopped working are up and running smoothly again. Thanks Wu!

Re: Start of 2008 Gaming

Hey everyone! I have a new recommendation for everyone: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One . Yep, the game brought to you by Penny-Arcade! The first XBLA game that will be episodic in its content. I loved the artistic and literary references sprinkled throughout the game (especiall...

Re: Weekly Update Message? [General Discussion]

This topic is unfortunately going very far away from the Terminals and even this most recent message into Forerunner history and such. While that's fine, I think people are forgetting the novels (specifically Ghosts of Onyx) and how truly advanced the Forerunner are. Considering what Onyx is made of...

Re: Weekly Update Message? [General Discussion]

Yeah, it was the first thing floating about in my head after figuring out the years, but there is no reason to correlate the 286 years with the present (2553). Now instead, consider the 300 year war with the Flood (mentioned in the terminals) and this 286 years figure seems to make a bit more sense...

Re: Weekly Update Message? [General Discussion]

Account creation is back up. This is from Cthulhu117 at HBO: -Smuggler is the name (codename?) of a map to be released in the next map pack. -LF.Xx.3273 is the Forerunner designation for the Flood (more specifically, the Flood Supercell) -"delta site" is almost certainly Delta Halo. It sur...

Re: Weekly Update Message? [General Discussion]

Alright. Math time. 2512332 hours, 14 minutes, 6 seconds. Divided by 24 (hours in a day). 104680.5 (days). Divided by 365 (days in a year, forgetting leap years). That makes approximately 287 years since there was a reported "CONTAINMENT FAILURE" at Installation 05 to the point where we se...

Re: Weekly Update Message? [General Discussion]

I just posted my thoughts at HBO. Here they are: Subject: Welcome back Iris, or new map reference? I may have the answer. May I refer you all to last week's Bungie Weekly Update: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=13824 "Before I went on holiday, Smuggler was a fun for...

Re: Wrong Galaxy?

But then how far out are we? How fast is slipspace travel, anyways? And how long did it take the crew to get there? I think you'd absolutely love to drop by the Halo Story Page at HBO. It'd keep you busy for decades. But slipspace travel is extremely slow (at least the way humanity uses it, the Cov...
