Re: Nearest Major City

I'm just outside Denver, CO. I'm also about an hour from Boulder and Colorado Springs.

Re: A Monument to All of Our Sins

Are you sure about this? Anyways, they personally kept the flood in containment even after they activated the Halos. There must be a reason to WHY. CDC scientists keep the smallpox virus on ice. I have heard two arguments for doing so: 1) Moral grounds-preventing the extinction of a species. 2) Jus...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

At this point the context could mean the Forerunner just as easily as the Flood. Of course, that means Forerunner=Humans or Covenant or both, or whatever, but there just isn't enough proof to grammatically show who GS was talking about I have made up my mind that the stuff in this ARG has disproven...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

I disagree that this excerpt clarifies whether or not the Flood can survive in a vacuum. If anything it leans towards the Flood not being able to survive in a vacuum. Why do I think that? The bit "...energy shields shimmered, frequencies matched...". To me that seems like by matching the ...

Re: It's good to play together.

I agree, I missed the boat on ILB but noticed that a pretty close-knit group of people came out of it. Merciless fanbois aside in this ARG, there are some really cool people on here who I wouldn't mind getting into some Team Slayer with. My XBL gamertag's the same as my name on here, anyone associat...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

Good points made. Kinda reminds me of a little book called Starhammer that people used to LOVE to reference ;) So, do we know if the Flood can survive in vacuum? I still need to read that book. As for the Flood in vacuum... P. 197, GoO: "The Rapturous Arc moved, wheeled toward the stars, and c...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

The Flood's "genetic memory" includes that which allows them to create and build combat forms, carrier forms and a Gravemind(s?) form. However, this all starts out with those cute little infection forms. Those are quite portable, and can apparently survive at least 100 millenia of stasis i...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

The Flood are sentient, as they have thoughts and can retain the knowledge from their hosts. Okay, new twist on the "monument to all your sins" line. As we know the Flood are adept at absorbing and retaining the knowledge of its victims. Arguably the victims the Flood has been absorbing h...

Re: The Flood: Natural or Artificial?

I like the idea that the Flood started out naturally and then someone/thing came along and changed them in some way to make them into the Flood we know today. But here's an idea for you-- What if it wasn't the Forerunner that changed the Flood, but some other group of advanced aliens? I remember th...

Re: Server 2 Image and Video Discussion

So you're saying they pushed Mars farther from the Sun so that it would freeze? Considering some of their achievements such "small" feats ( ) would be possible. In any case the incorporation of Mars as an entire planet lost to the Flood would be convincing evidence to show that the ...
