As a broken marionette, the future is out of my hands. Infinite answers to our present have shifted and you, Redeemer, now hold the keys. Tomorrow things will be clearer, but I will not be here to witness the clarity. More records remain. Wells not drawn upon. Depths you are not yet ready to grasp. ...

Re: Artifact Location city letters
I'm not sure if this is really worthwhile, but the .swf for the site is set to expire on 8/16/07 @ 11:00 a.m. I was just using PageInfo in Firefox. That could be worthwhile, does it have a timezone, or should we presume its West Coast/Bungie time? It would be based on your system clock. The flash a...

Re: Flood from outside galaxy?
Staten has described slipspace as another plane of existence. Ships use the fujikawa reactors to tear a hole in real space to reach slipspace. The counteraction is the snapping back of real space, like latex.

Re: Flood from outside galaxy?
You're saying the transcript is telling us "The Flood mind had spoken to us before, elsewhere"? How is that useful information? It spoke to the Forerunner "mockingly, dismissively." [It told us] it had done this before, elsewhere." That's how I read it. The Forerunner thoug...

Re: Flood from outside galaxy?
Not if the context of the log is intact. The pronoun this would have to refer to an action or noun already present in the log. The only actions with respect the 'the mind' are realization and speech.Agent ME wrote:Or it means they have taken over a civilization before.

Re: Log2_Transcript Discussion
People seem to be misinterpreting the line, "It has done this before, elsewhere." This is a pronoun, in other words, it is pointing to another action in the log. From thefreedictionary.com: "c. Used to refer to the present event, action, or time." The only two possible actions in...

Re: Flood from outside galaxy?
well if the flood had done this before, that rules out forerunner creation That is a misinterpretation of that line. In the context of the lines before it "it spoke to us MOCKINGLY, DISMISSIVELY" it would seem that it had spoken to the forerunner before. Indeed, the only verbs referred to...

Re: Flood from outside galaxy?
Flood do not have to be from outside our galaxy. The line server 2 log demonstrates that the forerunner initially misjudged the flood. They took them for a mindless parasite, assuming all intelligent life develops the same way. In lieu of this misunderstanding, the flood could have evolved within ou...
