Re: Shakespeare and Halo

Actually, Gravemind speaks in trochaic heptameter. Seven groupings of two syllables, each with a stressed/unstressed pattern. Iambic heptameter is the opposite stress pattern, seven groupings of two syllables, each with a unstressed/stressed pattern. wikipedia I wouldn't know this if it wasn't for G...

n'chala -> noach -> noah?

The header for this section says 'wild speculative theories,' so... here's one :). I looked up Noah on wikipedia , and found that another name for Noah is 'Noach,' which is at least closer to n'chala. It's a streeeetch, to be sure. It's curious that the comic would give the guy a name, and it seems ...

Re: Does the AR Glyph refer to us (humans)?

Have we even determined if the glyphs are part of the Forerunner language or just a character in a decorative sign? If you're asking if we know what the glyphs symbolize, it's only speculation. There is an apparent connection between location/function and the symbology, summarized here: http://halo...

Re: Does the AR Glyph refer to us (humans)?

The other glyphs apparently indicate different functions (lifts, flood storage), so the new glyth styles could be related to the (unique) function of the ark (or some aspect of the ark). That would make more sense, I suppose. :)

Does the AR Glyph refer to us (humans)?

I took a look at the forerunner symbols used previously in halo/halo 2 (I think this is a complete list, but I'm not sure. It's the one that gets viewed the most.) http://halosm.bungie.org/story/forerunner/jsymbols.html All of the above symbols are based on equal divisions (of a circle) of halves, t...

Re: The Urantia Book???

Also, I found something on the wikipedia site for urantia that recalls (coincidentally or not!) halo (I posted previously on this on hbo forums). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urantia_Book Here's the description for the 'thought adjuster', which is roughly each individual's guardian spirit (I think)....
