this should be very helpful to many people on here. But I have to ask myself if Bungie would really do that much research to make a realistic game? I think its great if they did. A better game over all because of it. Yes, yes they did. I was thinking about that same thing as I was researching this....

This is more about answers than questions. Nothing that we don't already know, but just some confirmation on the theory that the Halos were detonated around 100 KYA, the Missing Link Theory , and the fact that Africa (the presumed location of the Ark) is very important in the grande scheme of things...

no, the top picture isn't a lunar cycle - the source of light is the center, so it can't be the earth. The central object is representative of the sun. What the outer sphere is is likely the earth, but could be any celestial body. Considering it's earth and pangaea below it, I'd say it's the earth ...
